shine Coast Regional Council has just launched a discussion paper and survey which will inform the development of the Creative Communities policies. Forums and consultation processes will inform the cultural planning proceses and delivery of cultural facilities, services and programs across the region over the next five years (2010-2015). Have a read of the discussion paper first and then participate in one of the online surveys. There are two, one for for residents and visitors, and one for the creative industries.
There will also be a series of industry forums, one of which will be co-hosted by the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance. This is tentatively booked for Tuesday April 27 at Buderim from 5.30. It's important that creative industry workers and clusters identify the issues for their sectors and make their voices heard. The Creative Communities team are interested in hearing your opinions about issues such as regulations impacting on home-based business and planning scheme issues in relation to live entertainment. So get involved and try and get along to one of the forums, details to be posted and confirmed shortly.
