More creative industry study options are opening up on the coast through showcase sponsors CQUniversity and partnerships with Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE. Our house band for the 'Imagine That Creative Showcase' Afterglow features band members who are currently enrolled in a Diploma of Music at Sunshine Coast TAFE. People completing the diploma now have the opportunity to apply to CQUniversity to complete a Bachelor of (Contemporary) Music degree at Noosa .
The two BMusic specializations available in Noosa are the creative music technologies and contemporary. These specializations are offered in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (SCIT). After completing the Diploma of Music Industry or Diploma of Music Performance at SCIT, student can apply for direct entry into the second year of the BMusic (Creative Music Technologies OR Contemporary) program at CQ University. Once accepted, the Bmusic will take two years of full-time study to complete. Student holding equivalent qualifications to the Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) Diploma of Music Performance/Diploma of Music Industry - Business from another institution are welcome to apply for entry into the BMusic .
Students applying for Direct Entry
Students applying for direct entry should have first completed a Diploma of Music at the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE. Once completed,applying for entry into the Bmusic requires that you complete an on-line application for entry into the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music AND complete an direct entry application. Students applying for Entry via Credit Transfer Students applying for entry into the second year of the BMusic ) must have completed a Diploma of Music or equivalent. Applying for entry into the BMusic requires that you complete an on-line application for entry into the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, a QTAC application and an application for credit transfer. You will also be required to submit a resume and a portfolio of your work and/or attend an audition.
