'Best In Show' – Pecha Kucha Night #10. Wednesday August 15.  It’s Show Day in Brisbane and a ‘Best in Show’ opportunity for creative people and places across the Sunshine Coast. The Creative Alliance is holding its tenth Pecha Kucha Night, returning to the funky Sol Bar in Ocean Street, Maroochydore from 6pm to 8pm. Book now for a great gathering with stimulating show-offs including award-winning theatre director Sam Coward from XS Entertainment; award-winning 'green' artist James Muller from Earth Base Productions; the awesome innovators Leah and Rose - hairstylists from Toni & Guy;  cool cat Tim McGee from Creative Communities at Sunshine Coast Council;  and our truly excellent MC for the night - Helen Barber...more to be announced soon!  More >>

Pecha Kucha Night #9 will now be on WED 4 APRIL! We were all set to go on March 22 and the room looked fantastic, but then the heavens opened and the streets turned into waterways around Maroochydore and further south.  Many of our presenters still made it, but several couldn't and we were also concerned for the safety of people driving on the roads. So we postponed the event.  It's still going ahead - the line-up might be a little different but book the date in now! Wed 4 April, from 6.00 pm, still at the Solbar, Maroochydore.  Stay on later for the Open Mike music night - should be a great night out!   More >>

The Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance is excited to announce that the first Pecha Kucha Night for 2012 will take place on Thursday 22th March at the Sol Bar in Maroochydore.  The Creative Alliance is putting out a call for creative presenters to speak at PKN #9 around the theme of 'Heart & Sol'.  Presenters share their passions, work and ideas using the globally renowned networking format Pecha Kecha with 20 slides each shown for 20 seconds, taking the total presentation to 6 minutes 40 seconds. If you haven't heard about PKN before take a look at the global website, now featuring events from over 460 centres across the world.

Interested presenters should email info@thecreativealliance.org with their name, phone, email and a short 200 word blurb about yourself, your work and what you might present about.   If you could do that by Feb 8 that would be great as we are having a committee meeting on the 10th.  More information can be found on our info sheet.  A blank powerpoint presentation is also available here.   More >>
