We look forward to seeing lots of folk at our final Catalyst Club for the year at Peregian Beach Hotel on Wed 8 December (click here for the flyer and details). It's also time to celebrate and share your plans for 2011. So we're inviting you to bring along something like a program for 2011, a brochure, card or 'small' example of your work. It's also AGM time and so we need members to stay on for a while! We'll try to keep it short and sweet, as we also need to make a few changes to the constitution (to reflect how the organisation actually works now we've been operating for 18 months). We welcome new blood onto the committee, so if you are thinking you might like to get more involved next year please consider nominating. If you'd like to chat to us about it first email us and we can call you to discuss in.

It was a mix of old friends and new when we met at the Cooroy Cultural Precinct in September for our Catalyst Club event. It began with a terrific tour of the beautiful new library. Manager Tracey King pointed out the sustainability features and the rooms and spaces now available. Library patronage has been through the roof as locals have embraced this stunning new facility. We then moved up to the Butter Factory Arts Centre where manager Tricia Dobson outlined some of the arts exhibitions and workshops that have been hosted there this year and encouraged artists and groups to consider submitting a proposal for the 2011 program. Our sincere thanks to the Cooroy Cultural Precinct for co-hosting the event and to those who came along and shared in the conversation.

Our May Catalyst Club was fun, friendly and a celebration of creativity. Co-hosted by Julie Carrington and Lea Sansom from Art & Jewellery @ Carringtons we enjoyed the artwork of the current exhibition 'Bare' and the livemusic provided by Lea.

Opportunities will abound for eye-opening inspiration when the next Creative Alliance catalyst club connects with the Jewellery and Art Gallery at Carrington’s on Tuesday May 25 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Julie Carrington believes in giving creative people an opportunity to be seen and heard. “We’ve evolved from hair to healing, through to jewellery as wearable art. We now actively search for outstanding local visual artists who need a place to be seen. This journey has taken place since 1991 in our Sunshine Beach Road gallery.”
