Complete the online survey to assit in Sunshine Coast Council considerations about the roles it can play in supporting and growing the business of the creative and cultural industries in the region. In particular, it is looking at the arts and creative industry ‘incubation’ models in Australia and overseas, to determine the success and investment needed in different models and to envisage what kind of incubator facilities and services could be further developed in the region.
Positive Solutions has been engaged by Sunshine Coast Regional Council to conduct a survey designed for all those practitioners, businesses and organisations that see themselves as part of the cultural and creative industry of the region to determine in more detail the specific needs for future sustainability and growth. They would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete this questionnaire before 5pm on Monday 7th November. Your feedback is important to Council.

Any Sunshine Coast creatives who want to extend what they do in business terms should enrol for the 'Build your business' workshop series being offered through a partnership between Edgeware and Sunshine Coast Council smartArts program. Run by experienced creative entrepreneur Michael Doneman these workshops will occur throughout May on Saturdays and Wed nights (May 7 - 28) at SCAIP in Nambour. Edgeware is a highly effective and innovative education system for ethical, socially-aware entrepreneurs based around a suite of simpler business planning and decision-making tools. The Zooming into 2030 exhibition featuresphotographs and drawings from a competition which sought images from the community for use in Sunshine Coast Council’s Community Plan.
Community Policy and Programs Portfolio councillor Jenny McKay said the competition received hundreds of entries and has provided council with a viewpoint from the eyes all ages.

Just before halloween we're asking creatives to share some of the tricks of their trade or treat us to their successes and achievements. This fun and informative event will be on Tuesday October 26 at Nambour Civic Centre, 5.30 for a 6.00 pm start. If you would like to present, email us before the end of Sept with a 200 word blurb about yourself and what you might present about.
The format is 20 slides x 20 seconds each, a blank template is available to use. The format is the one now used in 350 cities and centres across the world.
