About this showcase:
My work is essentially about finding the uniqueness of a place, whether it be historically, culturally or environmental and incorporate it into a piece of public furniture or art work. So that the community finds it relevant and wants to take ownership of it.
Relevant education & experience:
Richard built a 3 story stone and pole house surrounded by rain-forest in Maleny. After that he left for Hobart in 1992 for 4 years to gain an B.F.A.(Hons) in Furniture design.
He returned to be one of two artistes employed full time for the Cooroy Community Streetscape. Successfully completed on time and on budget over 35 commissions for public art work.Totally designed the Golden Award winning Nambour Adventure Playground.
