  “Transience” THE SATSANG SERIES Acrylic 100x100cm One of the Finalists in the Mayor’s Prize Maroochy-Kenilworth Art Awards 2009. This painting is one of a series of paintings called SATSANG which means “meeting in Truth”. The painting is a meditation.

  country with weather events such as this but we need not to lose sight of our responsibility to keep our natural environment balanced and healthy.

  “Lunescence” Mixed media with Silver Leaf on ply board. 90x90cm This painting deals with the dialectic: Night and Day. It captures the transient balance between the opposites. The title “Lunescence” suggests a nocturnal influence and alludes to the elusive
  moment when night turns to day. The painting depicts the importance of maintaining a balance in nature for the continued health of this planet.

  “Footprint” Mixed Media on board 70x99cm $1500 “Footprint” makes an environmental statement. The blace and white are rendered equally and this represents that, at this point in time, humanity’s footprint on the environment is held in the balance. The light
  green portrays my optimism that nature will survive in the long run. Though it may be questionable whether humans will survive.

  “Greener” Acrylic on canvas 90x90cm This painting deals with our environment. The title says it all – we need to be vigilant in preserving of the trees, forests and jungles on this planet for our continued existence. We need to keep the environment balanced
  and healthy.

  Title “Grok” Size 90x90cm Medium Acrylic The word “grok” is new. It was invented by the author Robert Heinlein. It means to intimately and completely share the same reality or line of thinking with another physical or conceptual entity. According to the
  Wikipedia grokking is the intermingling of intelligence that necessarily affects the observer and the observed. This painting is about networks and networking and its social affects. It is optional which way this painting is hung.

  Title “Alchemy of Sorry” Medium Mixed drawing materials and Gold Leaf Size 100x100cm (framed in perspex) This drawing was inspired by effect that the word “Sorry” had on those indigenous people who were the “Stolen Generation” and also the overall population
  of people in Australia. It is limited to only three colours – black, red and gold which are also the colours on the Indigenous Flag. The use of gold leaf represents the transformation in the psyche of the population after the “Sorry”. Alchemy is the changing
  of base metal into gold. This drawing marks a significant turning point in the history of Australia.

  “Heartland – My Buderim Backyard” 90x90cm Acrylic. My inspiration comes from my backyard on Buderim on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. I gain inspiration for many of my paintings from the natural beauty surrounding Buderim. It concerns me that much of
  the beauty of Buderim is under threat because a lot of the senior trees in the area that have historical significance are non-indigenous. The original indigenous trees of this mountain were wiped out a centaury ago by the timber industry. The early pioneers
  replanted the area with non-indigenous trees such as the Poinciana, Fig, Camphor Laurel and Slash Pine. Many of these trees have historical significance. However because they are non-indigenous and are not politically correct, the regional council is proposing
  to remove these trees off Buderim. This would be a great loss that would change this beautiful area for ever. There needs to be an overall PLAN in place for Buderim Mountain parklands and natural areas.
